Kelly Stafford came to the rescue Sunday after her husband’s record-breaking ball was accidentally given away.
Matthew Stafford’s spouse kicked off a search effort for the memento shortly after the Los Angeles quarterback passed Tom Brady for most consecutive touchdown passes without an interception (28) in the first quarter of the Rams’ 31-28 road loss to the Panthers.

Davante Adams was on the receiving end of the score that set the mark, a four-yard score to give the Rams a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but he appeared to be unaware of the situation, as he handed off the pigskin to a young Carolina fan in the Bank of America Stadium stands.
Kelly immediately took to her Instagram page to see if she could get some help in getting it back.
“This ball was given away to this sweet little boy,” she wrote in an IG Story.
“If you know him, please get me in touch with his parents!”

Some time later, Kelly revealed her work paid off.
“Found them!” she wrote. “Thanks y’all.”

Unfortunately for the Staffords, their luck in Charlotte stopped there, as Matthew and the Rams suffered their third loss of the season.
To make matters worse for the signal-caller, he threw two interceptions just after besting Brady’s mark.
He fumbled aways the ball late in the game while being sacked with the Rams in position to potentially tie the score or take the lead, and the Panthers ran out the clock to secure the upset win.
The Rams (9-3) are now tied with the Bears and Seahawks for the NFC’s best record entering Week 14, and aim to rebound next week on the road against the Cardinals (3-9).
