A onetime Georgia beauty queen accused of hiring a hitman to kill her estranged husband, an ex-NFL player, reportedly wants to have her ankle tag removed so she can jump-start her modeling career.
Lindsay Shiver, 39, has had to wear the GPS tracker for over two years while she awaits trial in the Bahamas for allegedly ordering a hit on Robert Shiver, a former long snapper for the Atlanta Falcons, in July 2023.
She recently petitioned a judge in Nassau to have the tag removed because it leaves painful bruises and sores, disrupts her sleep and traumatizes her kids, the Mail Online reported.
Shiver also said she wants to return to Thomasville, Georgia, where she and her husband shared a $3 million mansion before their 2023 breakup.
She claimed to have multiple job offers, including modeling and influencer work, but can’t do them with the ankle tag still attached, according to the petition.
Shiver was previously permitted to leave the island country by a judge and is currently living with her parents at a remote ranch in Abbeville, Alabama.
Returning to Thomasville would allow her to spend more time with her children, while working in modeling would enable her to pay her legal fees, her court petition claims.
She has to hide the tag when out in public to avoid embarrassing her three sons, and can’t go to the beach because the device can’t get wet, Shiver complained.
Her arguments will be heard at the Nassau Supreme Court on Dec. 8, with Shiver expected to attend in person while her ex-husband likely responds via video link.
Shiver’s trial for allegedly conspiring with her barman lover, 30-year-old Adrien Bethel, to have her husband killed is scheduled for March 2026.
She is accused of scheming to have the former Auburn football standout murdered by her lover’s childhood friend, Faron Newbold Jr., 31.
Shiver allegedly sent Newbold Jr., pictures of her ex-husband in a bar, along with the WhatsApp message, “Kill him.”
If found guilty, Shiver faces up to 60 years in prison.
