Female shopper knocked out by cauliflower says she is suffering long-term health problems: ‘It’s ruining my life’

A female shopper was knocked unconscious by a head of cauliflower while grocery shopping — and she says the incident has ruined her life and caused her long-term health problems.

Sammi Mai, 42, said she is suffering from pain and anxiety after the vegetable fell and bonked her in the noggin while she was perusing the discount rack at a Waitrose grocery store in Bath, England, according to British outlets.

“I’m suffering from pain, I’m suffering from anxiety,” she told GB News

“It’s ruining my life.”

The London resident said she was on holiday when she walked into the grocery store, bent down to look at the bottom shelf and was walloped by the roughly two-pound vegetable that fell from what she claims was a six-foot high shelf, the outlet reported.

“Suddenly a really large and heavy item fell down on the top of my head, and hit my head,” she said.

“I fell and when I woke up, I was suffering concussion and was knocked out.”

She went to the hospital with a severe headache, nausea and dizziness and was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, according to The Sun.

Mai said she is still receiving treatment for head and neck pain and anxiety.

“I was very unwell and I’m still suffering and unable to work. I don’t know how the cauliflower fell but they should not store heavy, roundish items like that on the top shelf,” Mai told The Sun.

“The staff just put it back on the top shelf so they were not treating the incident seriously.”

The grocer gave her a voucher and taxi fare but she insisted the “goodwill” gesture was insulting and is now considering legal action.

In response, a Waitrose spokesperson told British outlets that Mai was treated by a first responder after the accident.

“We are sorry to hear she is unwell,” the spokesperson said.

“We take customer safety incredibly seriously and have thoroughly investigated this case – but will consider any new information she wishes to share with us.”
