WASHINGTON — President Trump torched “Squad” Rep. Ilhan Omar as a “terrible person” who badmouths the country while riffing on the $1 billion fraud scandal plaguing her home state.
“When I see somebody like Ilhan Omar, who I don’t at all, but I’ve always watched her for years, I’ve watched her complain about our Constitution, how she’s being treated badly,” Trump vented during his cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
“Hates everybody, hates Jewish people, hates everybody. And I think she’s an incompetent person. She’s a real terrible person.”
The broadsides against Omar (D-Minn.) came while Trump was blasting the Minnesota’s Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, in which roughly $1 billion of taxpayer dollars was swindled away by fraudsters.
Trump noted how the massive theft revolved around Somali immigrants in Minnesota and vented that he doesn’t want them in the United States.
“They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country,” Trump told reporters.
“Their country is no good for a reason. Your country stinks and we don’t want them in our country.”
“You know, our country is at a tipping point,” he said. “We’re going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. She’s garbage. Her friends are garbage.”
“These are people that do nothing but complain. They complain and from where they came from, they got nothing,” he went on. “When they come from hell, and they complain and do nothing but b—, we don’t want them in our country.”
Omar is a Somali-American who, alongside Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), is the first Muslim woman elected to the House of Representatives in US history.
“His obsession with me is creepy. I hope he gets the help he desperately needs,” Omar shot back on X.
Despite her bitter differences and nasty spats with Trump, Omar previously defended the president when a European diplomat trashed him during a meeting in April, according to Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.)
The official, who was from Belgium, vented to a congressional delegation how Trump didn’t “respect” them, Luna claimed.
“You might not like what our president is doing, and you might not agree with our foreign policy,” Omar shot back, according to Luna. “But when we’re here, you will respect our president!”

Trump’s riff comes amid growing scrutiny over the massive fraud scandal that has engulfed Minnesota, which is known for its generous social safety net.
Last week, the Justice Department unveiled charges against the 78th defendant in what prosecutors have dubbed the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. At least 59 people have been convicted so far.
The scandal revolves around nonprofits taking money from Minnesota for social services that they never performed. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has taken flak for that scandal unfolding under his watch.
“I think the man’s a grossly incompetent man,” Trump said of Walz.
