Calvin Ridley, Titans’ $92 million receiver, drops multiple F-bombs over role after loss

Calvin Ridley expressed his frustration with his lack of targets in an expletive-filled rant after the Titans’ 20-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday.

Ridley joined the Titans this offseason on a four-year, $92 million contract with $50 million guaranteed, but hasn’t been utilized much.

He was targeted eight times on Sunday without making a catch and his frustration seemed to get the best of him.

“I had targets in what part of the game?” Ridley responded when asked about it by a reporter.

When the media member said he had a lot of targets in the fourth quarter, that’s when Ridley really went off.

“Alright then, so s–t, I need some in the beginning of the f–king game too,” he said. “S–t is getting f–king crazy for me. It is what it is. I sucked today and I got to be better. But I got to get the ball a little earlier in the game so I can be in the game, and here with the team so I can play well also.”

Ridley’s eight targets were the most he’s had all season and the most since the seven targets he had during the Week 1 win over the Bears.

The former Jaguars star wide receiver was only targeted twice in the first half alone on Sunday and Ridley had entered the game with just nineteen targets in four games this season.

He had nine catches for 141 yards and one touchdown this season before Sunday’s game.

The Titans had planned to try to get Ridley more looks this game and head coach Brian Callahan said he knew the wide receiver would be disappointed by how things happened in Week 6.

“I’m sure he’ll be the first one to tell you it was disappointing,” Callahan told reporters, according to ESPN. “He’s one of our best players and we look to him to try and make a play or two and we didn’t get it done at the end of the game.”
