Trump brushes off concerns about legality of US operations in Venezuela — as AOC, Hochul decry admin’s arrest of Nicolás Maduro

In an interview with Fox News Saturday morning, Trump brushed off concerns about the legality of the US operating in Venezuela, calling Democrats “weak, stupid people” after receiving criticism from Rep. Jim Himes, a top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

‘They shouldn’t say ‘Oh, gee, maybe it’s not constitutional.’ You know the same old stuff that we’ve been hearing for years and years and years.”

Meanwhile, New York Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul and socialist US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez forcefully pushed back against the Trump administration’s decisive strike in Venezuela and arrest of the alleged narco-terrorist, Nicolás Maduro.

“This morning I was briefed on the developments in Venezuela with Nicolás Maduro, following President Trump’s flagrant abuse of power by acting without congressional approval,” Hochul wrote on X.

“New York is home to a vibrant Venezuelan community, and I stand with families here and abroad in their hopes for a better, more stable future,” she added.

AOC suggested that illegal drug trafficking, which results in 300,000 US deaths a year, according to President Trump, was not the real motive for the attack.

Here’s the latest on Nicolás Maduro’s capture:

“It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month,” the Queens native wrote on X, “It’s about oil and regime change.

“And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from Epstein + skyrocketing healthcare costs.”
