The curtain call of the Jets’ season pits New York (3-13) against the Buffalo Bills (11-5) in a Week 18 season finale clash.
After an embarrassing 42-10 loss to Drake Maye and the Patriots in Week 17, the Jets and Brady Cook look to snap a four-game losing streak to the Bills.
The Bills were a two-point conversion away from making things potentially interesting in the AFC East, but lost to the Eagles 13-12 last Sunday.
Josh Allen logged a few DNP practices this week, but has been cleared to play, and oddsmakers have installed Buffalo as 7.5-point favorites on the spread, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jets vs Bills: predictions, best bet
The Bills are locked into an AFC wild-card seed between No. 5 and No. 7. Their 11-5 record is identical to the Chargers’ and the Texans’. Buffalo would need both teams to lose to finish in fifth.
Season finale games are hard to predict, with amplified injury reports and the threat of starters getting pulled at any moment.
The Jets, though, have not been close in any of their last four losses.
Miami came into MetLife and beat Gang Green by 24 in Week 14. A week later, Trevor Lawrence and the Jags hung 48 points en route to a 28-point victory. In Week 16, the Saints outpaced the Jets by 23. We all know how last week’s contest against the Patriots ended.

Brady Cook will get the start on Sunday, in favor of Tyrod Taylor, who is healthy enough to play, as the offense has one more chance to provide a glimmer of hope to the fanbase.
It’s been a rough rookie campaign for Cook. In four starts, he’s thrown one touchdown to seven interceptions, was sacked 18 times and has yet to reach 200-plus yards passing. He has gone 0-4.
Breece Hall is the Jets’ prized possession, reaching 1,000 total rushing yards in Week 17 and scoring the team’s lone touchdown in addition to 111 yards on the ground. He was downgraded to out as the pending free agent clocks out on 2025 with four touchdowns.
Aaron Glenn’s defense has yet to record an interception on the season, and the its 27th-ranked rushing defense may not be able to contend even against one or two quarters of NFL rushing leader James Cook.
In their Week 2 matchup, the Bills raced out to a 20-3 halftime lead and buried the Jets by 20 points, with a final score of 30-10.

Regardless of how long Allen, Cook and other Bills position players grace the field, it is likely that Buffalo lays 7.5 points at Highmark Stadium come Sunday.
Another loss would only help the Jets’ draft position, and even if we see Mitchell Trubisky under center for the Bills by the third quarter, New York’s defense does not have the firepower to push back.
Take the Bills to cover the spread.
The Play: Bills -7.5, (-118, DraftKings)
