LeBron James officially endorses Kamala Harris for president: ‘Choice is clear’

LeBron James has officially made an endorsement for the U.S. presidential election — and he’s going with Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Lakers superstar took to social media on Thursday evening to share his views.

What are we even talking about here??,” he wrote on X. When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!”

He also posted a video along with his message that included a montage of clips with former President Donald Trump’s speeches, some of the recent Madison Square Garden rally and some videos from civil rights protests, which included the text: “Hate Takes Us Back” at the very end.

The endorsement from the 39-year-old James comes as little surprise after he supported the Joe Biden-Harris ticket during the 2020 election.

James isn’t the first high-profile NBA personality to endorse Harris this year, as both Steph Curry and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr have vocally backed her.

Curry spoke in a video shown at the Democratic National Convention in August in Chicago, and Kerr even gave a speech at the United Center.

“Man, what great honor it was to represent Team USA and go out there and win that gold medal at the Olympics this summer. That unity on and off the court reminded us all that together, we can do all things and continue to inspire the world,” Curry said. “That’s why I believe that Kamala as President can bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward.”

An “Athletes for Harris” campaign includes the likes of Magic Johnson, Bucks coach Doc Rivers, All-Star Chris Paul and tennis icon Billie Jean King, USA Today reported.

Trump has also garnered the support of the sports world, with Harrison Butker recently endorsing the former President and Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre campaigning with Trump in Wisconsin on Wednesday.
