Motorsports park where 9-year-old star died in ‘freak accident’ shuts down over legal battle

A California motorsports park where a 9-year-old girl died in a “freak accident” crash earlier this year has permanently closed as a legal flight plays over her death.

Pint-sized star Brooke Carlton suffered fatal injuries in June while riding at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore after a child on another bike crashed into her.

The park was sued after the tragedy and finally closed when the owner of the property, who has been caught up in the litigation, kicked them off the land, the park said on social media.

“The property owner has terminated our agreement, as they are being brought into [the lawsuit] as well,” the park said in a Facebook post.

“It would be in their best interest to have the track closed. I can’t say as I blame them,” the post added.

The park owners said both the landlord and city government have been “good to deal with” following the tragic accident that left young Brooke dead.

The girl was thrown off her bike and left unconscious on the ground after she collided with another kid rider, police said.

Good Samaritans gave her CPR until paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she died.

The other rider escaped with only minor injuries.

“We are truly sad about the situation. This was such a freak accident as the parent said,” Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park had said in an Instagram post after Carlton’s death.

“This is not a time to bash the track but a time to remember this little girl and support her family. We are a community and we will do our part in supporting the family as well.”

Brooke was an ambassador for the motorsports apparel brand Go Fast Girls and loved “to be out on the track competing with other girls and going fast,” according to her profile on its website.

“For those that REALLY knew Brooke, she was a total spitfire that knew what she wanted and there was no way of getting around it,” family friend Ally Giles wrote in the description of a GoFundMe fundraiser supporting her family.”
