A towering 74-foot Norway Spruce, destined to be the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree for the 2024-2025 season, was successfully cut and loaded onto a massive trailer in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, this morning.

At 8 a.m., a crane lifted the impressive 11-ton, 43-foot-wide tree onto a 115-foot trailer, securing it for its journey to New York City. Crowds gathered to witness the annual tradition, celebrating the start of the holiday season as the iconic tree makes its way to Rockefeller Center.

In 1966, newlyweds Earl and Lesley Albert planted a Norway Spruce in their yard in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, a tree that became central to family and holiday celebrations. Following Lesley’s passing in 2020, the Albert family donated the tree, a fitting tribute to Lesley and bringing their family’s holiday spirit to New York City. Courtesy Tishman Speyer
