Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) celebrated his victory and President-Elect Donald Trump’s victory against Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) this week by calling the drubbing Republicans handed Democrats an “a** kicking.”
Cruz made the remarks on his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson after his 9-point victory this week.
“Last night, as you noted, we won by nearly 10 points,” Cruz said. “We won by a million votes. I mean, it was an extraordinary victory. It was a victory across the board and one of the amazing outcomes was what happened in South Texas, and what happened with Hispanics.”
“And NBC News is reporting that I won Hispanics statewide by six points,” he continued. “That is a big, big deal. You want to talk about a transformation. And we saw South Texas counties, and a region of the state that has been bright blue for 100 years is rapidly, rapidly turning red. We had major victories throughout South Texas to win Hispanics statewide by six points is transformational.”
Cruz noted that everything from the Biden-Harris administration’s record was “a train wreck.”
“There’s a reason Kamala never talked about anything they’ve done,” he said. “She ran as the change candidate, because she sure as heck couldn’t run on her record. And you know what the American people said? To hell with that, we want change.”
“Now, whether Congress goes along is a different question, because the Democrats are still going to have enough votes in the Senate to filibuster legislation and it will be interesting to see if congressional Democrats have learned anything from this a** kicking,” he continued. “Let’s be clear, that’s what this election was, it was an a** kicking across the board.”
LISTEN:
Democrats are desperate to blame Joe Biden or Kamala Harris for their massive loss.
They should really be blaming themselves. The entire party advocated for an agenda that was horrible for America and was radically out-of-touch with voters.https://t.co/L00Q3j73j4 pic.twitter.com/ezPMj9o2GO
