A male model who appeared in the pages of Vogue and ads for Calvin Klein and other big brands was arrested Monday for the fatal stabbing of a young dad in the Bronx over the weekend, police said.
Dynus Saxon, 20, of Manhattan, was arrested and charged with murder and other crimes in connection to the killing of 35-year-old father of one, Kadeem Grant, according to the NYPD.
Grant’s bloodied body — with stab wounds to the chest, hands and feet — was found inside the entrance of an apartment building at 384 Grand Concourse just after 2:20 p.m. Sunday, police said.
A knife was discovered near the victim’s body as well as a trail of blood down the front steps of the Mott Haven building, according to cops.
Authorities declared Grant dead at the scene.
Neighbors told the New York Daily News that they heard fighting in the hallway and called the cops — but said the deadly altercation happened “very fast” and that no words were exchanged.
Saxon was taken into custody on Monday, and arrested within the confines of the 40th precinct, police said.
The alleged assailant was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation of minor injuries and may still be under observation as of Tuesday evening, cops told The Post.
Relatives of the victim remembered Grant as a selfless family man who cared for his daughter and his grandmother.
“He was just a loving kid who was there for his family and his daughter. It’s just so sad that she has to grow up without a father,” Grant’s father, Christopher Grant, told the Daily News.
“He cared for people, looking after his grandma because most of us are not there [in New York]. Kadeem was a kid, you need him and he was there for you,” the elder Grant added.
His alleged killer had a successful career as a model — appearing in Vogue Italia and modeling for well-known brands such as JD Sports, Calvin Klein, and Levi’s, according to his Instagram profile.
The socialite was even present on the red carpet for the premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “The Batman.”
Saxon is being charged with murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
The model’s mother told the Daily News her son wasn’t a killer.
“I don’t know what happened, but I can tell y’all based on what I do know that it’s not going to be as simple as you want to make it,” she said. “Dynus didn’t just decide to murder somebody.”
The mother also told the outlet that Saxon said he does not remember the alleged stabbing.
“He does not know what happened,” she said.
Grant is survived by a young daughter.
The investigation is ongoing.
