A drunk Russian plane passenger was filmed attacking a flight attendant and then lunging at a police officer when she was detained on arrival, causing her child to cry.
The chaotic incident played out on a flight from Moscow to Surgut on Friday, according to NewsX.
The woman – who has not been identified publicly – could be seen swiping at the flight attendant while loudly demanding she not be filmed, according to a translation by the news agency.
The video also showed the woman shouting at police after she was detained upon landing, with the commotion causing her young daughter to start sobbing in the background.
The woman was arrested and charged with petty hooliganism, violation of air transport conduct rules, and failure to fulfill parental duties, NewsX said.
“In Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Yugra), police officers have detained an airline troublemaker in a state of alcohol intoxication,” Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Irina Volk said of the incident.
“The woman, displaying signs of alcohol intoxication, directed obscene language at the flight attendants in the presence of her four-year-old daughter,” the statement explained.
A medical exam confirmed that the woman was drunk, Volk said — while noting that the passenger had been arrested before.
“Additionally, she has been held administratively accountable three times, including for improper fulfillment of responsibilities regarding the upbringing and care of her minor daughter,” the statement added, according to News X.
After the mother’s arrest, the young girl was taken into her father’s care, according to officials.
