The Yankees are closing in on their man to replace the legendary John Sterling.

Mariners TV announcer Dave Sims is nearing a deal to become WFAN’s new play-by-play broadcaster on Yankees games, sources told The Post.

A deal has not been finalized, sources said.

A WFAN official did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

If Sims is indeed the guy, sources told The Post that the Yankees would approve of WFAN’s choice for him to succeed Sterling.

It would be something of a full circle moment for the 71-year-old Sims, who was a midday sports talk host on WFAN with Ed Coleman from 1989-93.

The Post previously reported that Sims and Rickie Ricardo are the two finalists.

Sterling, 86, retired in April this past season after 35 years on the job but returned to call the Yankees’ postseason run that lasted until the World Series.
