Baby boy found dead in the Bronx died of cocaine intoxication: ME

A four-month old baby boy who died in the Bronx over the summer had cocaine in his system, the city medical examiner has said — and now, his death has been ruled a homicide.

Cops found little Ariel Gonzalez unconscious and unresponsive at an Eagle Avenue residence at about 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 10, after someone called 911 for help, the NYPD said Thursday.

EMS workers rushed the boy to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, but he didn’t make it, police said.

There were no signs of trauma on his body, leaving authorities to wonder what killed him.

But on Thursday, the city medical examiner announced the boy had died from acute cocaine intoxication — and officially ruled his death a homicide.

Cops haven’t arrested anyone for the crime, and their investigation is still ongoing.
