A Canadian sex shop found itself in the crosshairs of the US Department of War, after a couple of its X-rated items ended up in Bahrain — a Muslim Persian Gulf nation where the pleasure toys are illegal.
“I got two signed letters from the Department of Defense on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain . . . mad that their soldiers ordered spicy toys from my business,” Toronto’s Grace Bennett, owner of online sex shop Bonjibon, said on Instagram.
Bennett said she didn’t know the sex toys — a butt plug and a bullet vibrator, she whispered — were going to Bahrain. She suspects someone forwarded the two packages to US Navy troops stationed in the oil-rich Middle Eastern nation.
“Pornographic materials or devices are not allowed into the Kingdom of Bahrain,” the stern letter warned, sent from a US Navy base in Bahrain with the subject line, “adult item identified during x-ray mail screening,” along with the returned fun toys.
Bahrain is so conservative that even Kim Kardashian was slammed by protesters as a “porn star” when she visited back in 2012 to promote a milkshake business.
“For all American soldiers who are stationed overseas, specifically ones stationed in countries where good vibes might be illegal, you cannot order from Bonjibon,” Bennett said of her business.
“They literally categorize these goods as posing an immediate danger to life or limb, or an immediate and substantial danger to property,” she laughed, reading from the Pentagon’s letter.
Bennett since displayed the two letters with bedazzled frames in her office, to immortalize the naughty mishap.
“I’m so sorry for soldiers overseas,” she said at the end of the video. “I know it’s a long and lonely journey – we cannot go on this journey with you.”
Social media users had a field day in the comments.
“Hold on so the soldiers buying B-Plugs?” asked one Instagram user, seemingly perplexed.
“I can’t tell whether you forget women can be soldiers too, or that the male gspot is found easiest through their backdoor,” scorned another. “Either way, bplugs can be great for everyone.”
“Wives are stationed there as well and we deserve a fun time while our spouses are away,” chimed in someone else.
