Donald Trump is reportedly making personal calls to Republican senators to persuade them to vote to confirm Matt Gaetz as his attorney general.
According to a report from Axios, Trump feels heavily invested in Gaetz’s nomination and is putting pressure on Senate Republicans to approve his confirmation.
Among those to receive a call North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer, who said that Trump strongly believes that Gaetz is the man to clean up the Department of Justice.
“He clearly wants Matt Gaetz,” he told Axios. “He believes Matt Gaetz is the one person who will have the fearlessness and ferociousness, really, to do what needs doing at the Department of Justice.”
“One thing about Donald Trump, people should never confuse his support for one of his nominees as a tactical or strategic tool for somebody else.”
“And at least to this point, he’s putting his own political capital behind it,” he added. “And he’s a pretty persuasive guy.”
Another unnamed senator also received a phone call, stating that Trump had also urged him to support his nominee.
Trump’s decision to pick Gaetz, a staunch supporter of his and a respected conservative firebrand, has ruffled feathers across the Republican establishment.

This has led to speculation that he may fail to win confirmation from the Senate, without which taking the reigns of the department will become far more complicated.
Gaetz’s opponents are already working overtime to try and block his nomination. They believe their “trump card” are claims that he was once involved in a sex trafficking operation, even though no criminal charges have ever been brought.
Another effort line of attack are reports that Gaetz is subject to a House Ethics Committee report, the findings of which have not been released.
While Republicans will have 53 seats in the Senate, two of those seats belong to Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, both of whom are committed RINO’s and unlikely to support Gaetz.
If Gaetz is succesfully confirmed or takes the position in some capacity, Americans can likely expect him to execute prosecutions against a range of corrupt figures.
The first on that list would be Special Counsel Jack Smith, a deranged assistant U.S. attorney who unsuccesfully attempted to imprison Donald Trump for his efforts to challenge the fraudulent results of the 2020 presidential election.
On Monday, NBC News reported that many senior officials at the DOJ and the FBI are hiring themselves criminal defense attorneys in anticipation of Trump’s return to the White House. Justice is finally coming.
