The San Francisco 49ers head to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in one of the best NFL playoff games of Wild Card Weekend.
The reigning champions are seeking to make it back to the promise land and win back-to-back championships while the Niners are hoping to play a home game in the Super Bowl.
The elements could be a factor in this game with rain showers and flurries in the forecast between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Philadelphia and wind gusts up to 37 mph.
The Eagles are 6-point favorites at home with the Over/Under listed at 44.5.
49ers vs. Eagles odds, prediction
The Niners were a win away from the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and prior to their loss to the Seahawks in the last game of the regular season, they were on a roll.
One of the reasons they were unable to beat the Seahawks was that Christian McCaffrey couldn’t haul in a catch with the 49ers down 10 points on the verge of scoring in the red zone.
Instead, the ball bounced off McCaffrey’s hands and into the waiting arms of linebacker Drake Thomas. You can expect McCaffrey, who had season lows in rushing attempts and rushing yards, and failed to score for just the fifth time this season, to be fully locked in for this game.
I love McCaffrey’s matchup here against an Eagles defense that allowed 124.4 rushing yards per game this season (11th-most in the NFL) and 17 total touchdowns to running backs (10th-most in the league).
The Eagles don’t blitz much, they rank near the bottom of the league in blitz percentage, but they QB knockdowns per pass attempts, so Purdy will need to get the ball out quickly. McCaffrey should have plenty of opportunities to be effective in the passing game while getting his touches on the ground.

I also think a small play on McCaffrey to score two touchdowns is worth a look at +475.
