Jake Paul rematch is ‘inevitable’ says Tommy Fury — the only man to beat him

It’s a matter of when — not if — Jake Paul and Tommy Fury get back into the ring for a rematch.

Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, told ESPN on Tuesday that another fight between him and Paul is “inevitable.”

In February 2023, Fury delivered Paul the only loss of his 12-fight boxing career.

“In a heartbeat, yeah,” Fury said when asked if he’d fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer again. “I mean at the end of the day I think me and him, we’re set in stone. He’s only got one defeat and that’s to me, so it’s inevitable that we are going to get back in the ring.

“I know I’m going to be an improved fighter and with him the [fights] he’s taking and what he’s doing, I’m not sure if he’s going to improve that much.”

Paul moved to 11-1 in his professional career on Friday night after defeating boxing legend Mike Tyson by unanimous decision.

Chatter of his next potential opponent began immediately after the fight, with Paul himself floating UFC superstar Conor McGregor, super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis as possible competitors.

The 25-year-old Fury, whose record sits at 10-0, is set to box UFC fighter Darren Till on Jan. 18.

It’ll be his first fight since October 2023, when he beat YouTuber KSI.

“I’ve been in a training camp since August because obviously I’ve had quite a while out, so I’ve been using my time wisely,” Fury said, per ESPN. “I’ve been in the gym three times a day and I’ve really put together a machine. I wouldn’t even call it a body, I’d call it a machine, especially what my dad’s been putting us through.

“So yeah, we’re ready to go.”
