Carolina Panthers rookie tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders suffered a scary head injury Sunday in a home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Upon catching a pass from quarterback Bryce Young shortly before halftime, Sanders ran into traffic with Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie and linebacker Drue Tranquill, with the 21-year-old rookie flipping over during the collision and landing directly on his head.

McDuffie went low to tackle the 6-foot-4, roughly 250-pound Sanders, and Tranquill also helped bring him down.

Sanders was subsequently carted off the field, with players from both teams looking on.

The fourth-round pick out of Texas also raised his arms to the Bank of America Stadium crowd, which applauded him as he left the field.
