A suspected gunman was killed and two students were wounded in a shooting at a small Seventh-day Adventist school in California.
Gunfire broke out around 1 p.m. at the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo, an elementary school with an enrollment of only 33 students.
Two students were wounded and taken to the hospital, KCRA reported.

Their ages and conditions have not been released, but the Butte County Sheriff’s office confirmed one had to be airlifted out.
Few details have been released about the shooting, but officials confirmed a male gunman was found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“The suspected shooter is deceased,” the Butte County Sheriffs Office said in a statement.
He is not believed to have any connection to the school, according to the sheriff.

The school was sent into lockdown, but students have since been sent to a nearby church to be picked up by their parents.
Roads in the rural area around the school were closed after the shooting as police investigated.
Palermo is about 65 miles north of Sacramento.
