Two people were killed and six others injured after a mass shooting outside a packed party in downtown Los Angeles early Monday.
The grisly attack happened about 1 a.m., a few hours after cops shut down an unauthorized rager attended by around 50 people, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Police confirmed that one man died at the scene, and another woman – aged 52 – died later at the hospital, although details are still scarce.
It is unclear whether the shooting was carried out by a lone gunman, or by multiple people — or whether the LAPD has any suspects.
But, cops had already arrested someone for gun possession when they initially shut down the party — before the shooting happened.
“Yesterday around 11 p.m. officers observed [at a] big party … an individual, possibly armed, go into the location. Officers shut down that party. One person was arrested for possession of a firearm,” LAPD said.
“Shortly after the officers had cleared the scene … a radio call of ‘shots fired’ was broadcast at the same location.”
The violence seems to have occurred outside on the street, although detectives were still piecing together what happened.
The attack came the night after cops arrested a man for allegedly shooting the driver suspected of plowing his car into a crowd outside an East Hollywood nightclub last month.
