Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene claims foreign bomb threat targeted her Georgia home: ‘For Palestine’

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed Monday that a foreign bomb threat targeted her Georgia home after local law enforcement received an “email that has been traced to a Russian IP address” warning of the explosive, which was purportedly planted “for Palestine.”

The email sent to the Rome Police Department stated that “a 1×8 inch threaded galvanized pipe, end caps, a kitchen timer, some wires, metal clips and homemade black powder” had been shoved in the congresswoman’s mailbox in the Peach State.

“I’ve constructed a pipe bomb, which I recently hid in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s mailbox,” the sicko said. “It is set to go off during the weekend but it would also explode the next time anybody opens the mailbox.”

“Even if Marjorie does not open the mailbox herself I’m still satisfied with the prospect of some pig cops losing their lives or being injured,” the suspicious message read, before closing with the words: “VIVA VIVA PALESTINA.”

The threatening messages were sent to the Rome Department’s assistant chief of police, according to Greene.

No potential suspects have been publicly identified.

Ultimately, a bomb squad that was dispatched to Greene’s home by the Rome Police Department, determined that “there was no active threat,” according to the congresswoman.

The firebrand rep posted a video ostensibly showing a law enforcement official clad in a bomb suit running tests near her mailbox around noon, local time Monday.

“Due to the international nature and severity of this threat, my office is collaborating closely with local and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice,” she added.

The Post contacted both the FBI and the Rome Police Department for comment.

Greene has previously been targeted at her home in Rome, Ga. This includes at least nine instances in which she was swatted — meaning that police were dispatched to her home over a bogus call — since she was elected to the lower chamber.Last Christmas, for instance, Greene groused about being swatted, interrupting her family’s festivities.

The threats against Greene come against the backdrop of numerous security scares against members of Congress.

In September, for example, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) revealed that her office had faced a “very serious shooting threat.”

Over Thanksgiving, several House Democrats such as Reps. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), Joe Courtney (D-Conn.) and John Larson (D-Conn.) faced bomb threats directed at their homes. That came on the heels of several of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks, such as US Ambassador to the UN designee Elise Stefanik, EPA director designee Lee Zeldin and Labor Secretary designee Lori Chavez-Deremer, facing threats as well.

Greene is one of the most prominent Republicans in the lower chamber and has at times been a thorn in the side of GOP leadership, though she has recently hinted that she won’t get in the way of Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) bid to keep the gavel.

“I’m so grateful to every member of the Rome Police Department for your swift and professional response in ensuring my safety,” Greene added in her statement Monday.
