A 25-year-old Bronx man was arrested Sunday — more than two years after he allegedly punched another man while hurling homophobic slurs at him in a Manhattan subway station, police said.
Tavaughn Thompson was first busted over an unrelated incident Sunday, and later identified as the suspect-at-large in the hate crime case from late 2023, the NYPD said.
Police for over two years had been searching for the bigoted creep who allegedly became violent after spotting a straphanger he believed had taken a sneaky photo of him inside the 125th Street subway station in Harlem on Dec. 29, 2023.
The hateful suspect allegedly punched the man in the face multiple times while hissing “Delete that f–king photo of me, f—-t,” the New York Daily News reported.
The assailant bolted from the station, on West 125th Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue.
The victim, who was not publicly identified, suffered minor injuries.
Police at the time released photos of the wanted perp, described as a man around 5 feet 10 inches tall weighing approximately 180 pounds and last seen wearing a black jacket.
Thompson was charged with assault and aggravated harassment, both as hate crimes in connection with the 2023 attack.
