JERUSALEM — A tale retold at Christmastime for thousands of years was shaken up this week, as a newly discovered scroll revealed a fourth wise man who brought baby Jesus the best gift of all: a priceless Lego Millennium Falcon.
The discovery was made by a team of researchers and archaeologists, with the lost scroll giving a previously unknown account of a fourth member of the Magi traveling from the East. Whereas the other well-known wise men brought costly gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, the fourth man topped them all by presenting the young Christ Child with the exceedingly expensive Lego depiction of Han Solo’s famous Corellian freighter.
“An extravagant gift befitting of the King of Kings,” said Andrew Huff, Bible scholar and Professor of Divinity at King’s College in London. “Much has been made of the luxurious gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, but this newly discovered account of the Magi emphasizes how much the wise men honored Jesus by presenting him with a Lego Millennium Falcon. Truly remarkable.”
Sources who have read the scroll provided insight into its contents. “It’s groundbreaking,” said one scholar. “The writer of the scroll, whom we have yet to identify, makes mention of the fact that the Lego Millennium Falcon was worth at least a year’s wages for an average Judean man. Anyone who possessed such a treasure was wealthy indeed.”
At publishing time, scholars disclosed that the scroll went on to tell of how the young Jesus showed early signs of His divinity by putting together the thousands of pieces of the Millennium Falcon by Himself without even looking at the instructions.
