Two men were gunned down in downtown San Jose early Sunday morning — just hours before the city was set to celebrate nearby Super Bowl festivities — marking the second and third homicides to bloody the California city in 2026.

The double slaying comes just days after two brothers were busted for allegedly killing a 17-year-old boy in another San Jose shooting — the city’s first alleged murder of the year.

On Sunday, cops rushed to the 100 block of Paseo de San Antonio around 2:20 a.m. after getting reports of shots fired, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Officers working nearby descended on the scene within minutes and found both victims sprawled on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics frantically tried to save the men, but both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are now scrambling to piece together what led to the deadly encounter, with authorities saying only that the shooting appears to be an “isolated incident.”

The motive remains a mystery, and cops aren’t saying whether they have any suspects in custody.

The identities of the victims are being withheld until the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner notifies their families.

In the first homicide of the year, cops say they’ve made significant headway with the arrest of two suspects.

Brothers Jose Flores, 47, and John Flores, 43, were arrested Tuesday in connection with the Feb. 2 shooting death of the teenager in a Winchester Boulevard parking lot, cops told CBS.

The teen was blasted following by the suspects at around 4:48 p.m., according to police. He was rushed to a hospital but died from his injuries.

Detectives used license plate readers and surveillance cameras to track down the suspect vehicle, leading them to the brothers’ homes in San Jose and Santa Clara.

Both are now cooling their heels in the Santa Clara County Jail on murder charges.
