Investigators recover DNA from Nancy Guthrie’s property that does not belong to anyone ‘close’ to her

DNA evidence belonging to somebody not “in close contact” with Nancy Guthrie has been recovered from her Arizona home – a potentially major breakthrough in the search for the missing 84-year-old and her suspected abductor.

The unidentified DNA, which was found somewhere at Guthrie’s Tucson property, was sent to a laboratory for analysis, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed in a Friday night update.

“DNA other than Nancy Guthrie’s and those in close contact to her has been collected from the property,” the sheriff’s department said in an update.

Friday’s update from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department came shortly after TMZ revealed it had received a third alleged ransom email, in which the sender claims to know the identity of Guthrie’s abductor.

The note demands the $100,000 FBI reward in exchange for the name and location of the alleged kidnapper.

Authorities have investigated the alleged ransom notes sent to media outlets – but have acknowledged they may have nothing to do with Guthrie’s disappearance.
