The Mets avoided the ignominy of a no-hitter Wednesday in the ninth inning, but their miserable stretch continued.

The struggling Amazin’s were no-hit by the Guardians’ Gavin Williams for 8 ⅓ innings Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field before Juan Soto broke it up with a home run to center field.

Williams still earned the win in a 4-1 Mets loss in which he allowed three walks while striking out six on a career-high 126 pitches in 8 ⅔ innings.

The Mets have been no-hit eight times in their franchise history; Max Scherzer was the last to do it with the Nationals in 2015.

The loss completed a sweep and the Mets have now lost eight of their last nine games.
