Retired math teacher, 75, stabbed to death by ‘mentally ill’ tenant inside NYC apartment: neighbor

A 75-year-old retired teacher was found dead with his neck slashed when his neighbor allegedly went berserk inside the lobby of their Queens apartment building, police and neighbors said.

Cops discovered George Dournadounas with a fatal neck wound when they responded to a reported slashing at his Astoria home at 25-75 33rd St. around 1:40 p.m., according to the NYPD.

A horrified neighbor said the retired high school math teacher was allegedly murdered by a knife-wielding “mentally ill” tenant he frequently clashed with.

“He came home today and apparently the neighbor who he didn’t get along with attacked him and killed him,” Ray told The Post Tuesday night. “I just can’t believe it happened. They didn’t get along but George was a very nice person, he never bothered anybody and he came home and he got killed.

“He was a very nice mellow man. This guy just didn’t like him. George never did anything to make this man mad.”

The local added the alleged killer — described as a burly, 30-something who lives with his mother — often harassed the victim, mocking his Greek heritage and hurling expletives at him.
