It’s now more possible than ever that Brandon Aiyuk will face criminal charges for driving by Levi’s Stadium at speeds of over 100 mph late last year.
Santa Clara Police Department spokesperson Lt. Eric Lagergren said in a statement to The California Post that after investigating a video of the San Francisco receiver flying by the Niners’ home turf in a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing on Dec. 20, cops have forwarded the case to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

Lagergren added they referred the matter to the prosecutors on Jan. 15.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to The Post it did receive the case, though it provided no further update on the situation.

The 49ers wideout filmed his joyride and posted the footage on his YouTube page, and shortly after it went up, it quickly drew the ire of many.
The 27-year-old could be seen in the video reaching speeds of 104 mph as he passed by Levi’s. In other parts of the video, his speedometer got all the way up to 111 mph.
Aiyuk ended up apologizing for his behavior, writing in a social media post that his “car content won’t come with speeding anymore!”
“Was Praying with my son tonight and wouldn’t want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones!” he said. “My apologies.”

The issue is not the only Aiyuk driving-related matter that caught Northern California cops’ attention in 2025.
Court records, obtained by The Post, show Aiyuk was given a citation on Oct. 22 by the San Jose Police Department for going 80 mph in a 50 mph zone in a black 2024 Lamborghini Urus.
Aiyuk, a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft who earned a four-year, $120 million contract extension from the 49ers in August 2024, played in 69 games for SF in his first four seasons in the league, but has not logged a snap for the team since suffering a knee injury in October 2024.
San Francisco general manager John Lynch told reporters in late January he believed Aiyuk’s time as a Niner was over.
“I think it’s safe to say he’s played his last snap as a 49er,” Lynch said during an end-of-season press conference. “It’s unfortunate. It’s a situation that just went awry. I will look long and hard at what could’ve been done differently, but sometimes, it just doesn’t work out.”
