Breanna Morello reports:

Highly respected attorney Jeffrey Clark has submitted his resignation from the Trump administration, where he served as Acting Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), a key regulatory oversight office within the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

In an exclusive letter addressed to OMB Director Russell Vought, Clark announced his decision to step back into private life. He emphasized, however, that he remains committed to the broader conservative fight and will not abandon the mission.

Clark, a longtime Trump ally and former Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division at the Department of Justice during Trump’s first term, assumed the acting OIRA role in March 2025. His tenure focused on advancing the administration’s aggressive deregulatory priorities, including streamlining reviews of rules and implementing executive orders aimed at reducing federal regulations.

Clark has faced significant scrutiny for his loyalty to Trump, particularly related to events following the 2020 election. He endured intense attacks during the Biden regime and faced disciplinary recommendations from the D.C. Bar, including calls for disbarment over his alleged role in efforts to challenge election results—matters he and supporters have dismissed as politically motivated.

Clark’s exit is a significant blow to the current administration, highlighting his reputation as a principled defender of the U.S. Constitution and President Trump. Clark’s letter underscores a voluntary transition to private practice.

The White House has not yet commented publicly on the resignation or named a replacement for the OIRA leadership role. Clark’s move follows his earlier public statements expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the administration’s deregulatory efforts.

Here is Clark’s resignation letter:

Clark was one of a small group of attorneys who worked to undo the 2020 stolen election for President Trump.  As a result, he was indicted alongside President Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Christina Bobb, and others, by Fulton County Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis on charges that have since been discarded.

All the best to the great Jeffrey Clark.
