A Long Island doctor was hit with sex abuse and forcible touching charges on Thursday for allegedly fondling a female patient during a routine examination last year, according to police.

Mark Hoffman, 71, was arrested by the Nassau County police Special Victims Squad and accused of molesting the 48-year-old patient at his New Hyde Park clinic on May 9, cops said in a release.

Hoffman waited until the nurse left the examination room and was alone with the victim when he had “unwanted sexual contact” with the patient, police said.

According to his LinkedIn.com profile, Hoffman, a hematologist-oncologist, is an attending physician with Optum health care and worked for North Shore LIJ Health System last year.

He is currently looking for a part-time position, claiming “a deep passion for patient care,” the site said.

Hoffman earned his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
