
When you look at it, that St. John’s found itself where it found itself Friday night in Newark, N.J., was among the least surprising aspects of the New York sporting calendar in recent years.
Best-case scenario: beat Seton Hall in the regular-season finale, wrap up a second straight Big East regular-season championship.
Worst-case scenario: lose to Seton Hall and likely have to settle for the No. 2 seed in the Big East Tournament next week.
That is the very template of a win-win.
