What our Post expert thinks about Dominican Republic vs. Netherlands
Next to Team USA, the Dominican Republic is the only roster made entirely of MLB players, with so much star power that Rodríguez has even hit as low as seventh in exhibition games. But after failing to reach the semifinals in the last two tournaments — including a 2023 pool-play exit against Venezuela and Puerto Rico — there’s still a lot to prove.
The Netherlands has some major league hitters that can deliver in Xander Bogaerts, Ozzie Albies, and Ceddanne Rafaela. The bigger question is on the mound, where closer Kenley Jansen is the only established MLB arm and a young, inexperienced staff will need plenty of run support to keep up on Sunday.
