The family of the youngest Israeli taken hostage by Hamas isn’t getting their hopes up for his release in the latest cease-fire deal until they see him alive.
Kfir Bibas – who was just 9 months old when he was snatched alongside his mother and 4-year-old brother by terrorists on October 7, 2024 – should be included in the first wave of hostages to be released as part of the new deal, announced Wednesday.
But his family says they’ve been disappointed plenty of times by hopes of release before.
“Given our experience with disappointments, we consider nothing final until our loved ones cross the border,” the family said in a statement.
“We are waiting for certainty regarding their release and condition, and request not to be contacted during this sensitive time. We ask that people refrain from spreading rumors,” they added.
Little Kfir is now 2-years-old, and has never celebrated his birthday outside of captivity.
