Things will only get tougher for Team USA from this point forward. The Stars and Stripes are still runaway favorites to win the World Baseball Classic, but they’ll have a tricky path to the finals, where they could meet Japan.
To get there, the Americans will need to swat aside a pesky Canadian side that finished first in Pool A ahead of Puerto Rico.
Canada’s lineup has the potential to wreak havoc on any starter, even one as solid as Logan Webb.
The Naylor Brothers, Josh and Bo, along with Tyler O’Neill, give the Canadians plenty of pop in the heart of the order. They’re also getting terrific production from Abraham Toro and Owen Caissie.
