When the sports world sees a major story, the betting world sees an opportunity.
The Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo scored 83 points on Tuesday to rank second on the NBA’s all-time list of single-game scorers.
Several sharp bettors wagered under 23.5 points in his next game and he finished with 20 against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.
The Heat have now won and covered the point spread in seven straight games. Coach Erik Spoelstra has figured out how to push the right buttons and has the team peaking late in the season.
Miami hosts the Orlando Magic as 3-point home favorites with a total of 237.5 points.
Orlando is also playing well, having won six straight games.
Playing a key role in this recent success is the return of guard Jalen Suggs from injury. He starts and plays excellent defense, while also playing a key role in the offense.
The Heat have circumvented their own injuries and may be without Tyler Herro and Andrew Wiggins. Miami has played recent games without three of its top six players.

I think this is a great opportunity to fade the Heat.
Adebayo is an elite defender and looked exhausted at the end of Thursday’s win over Milwaukee. He had to guard Giannis Antetokounmpo.
I cannot imagine he has much left in the tank for this matchup against Paolo Banchero and Orlando.

The Magic will look to push pace and while I am impressed with Miami’s reserves stepping up in the absence of key starters, I just think the Magic will catch them in a flat spot.
I have a 104-86-2 record in this Post sports section, and my next play is the Magic +4.5 points at Miami.
The Play: Magic +4.5 (-110, FanDuel Sportsbook)
