Two people were wounded in a shooting after a large brawl broke out at the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday night, authorities said.

Police with the Santa Monica Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the pier around 9 p.m.

Investigators said a confrontation involving multiple individuals had broken out shortly before shots were fired, ABC7 reported.

Police officers at the Santa Monica Pier following a shooting.

Police presence remained on Santa Monica Pier Sunday night.

Two victims were struck by gunfire and suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Both received treatment at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital. Their identities have not been released.

Officials have not yet determined what led to the altercation or who was involved in the brawl.

Police said parts of the pier could be temporarily closed as officers continue investigating.

As of Monday morning, no additional information was released.
