War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine will hold a press conference today to discuss developments on Operation Epic Fury and the Iran war.
20 days ago, US and Israeli forces executed strikes in Iran, which killed the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and dozens of top Iranian officials.
Bombing campaigns, targeting Iranian military infrastructure and weapons, have continued for nearly three weeks.
Today’s briefing follows US strikes on Iran’s “crown jewel” oil hub of Kharg Island last Friday.
President Trump described it as the “most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East,” which “totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.”
Today’s briefing also comes after President Trump announced late on Wednesday that Israel “violently lashed out” against Iranian and Qatari natural gas fields.
Trump on Wednesday threatened to escalate the war and “finish off” Iran amid its closure of oil shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Reports also suggest that Trump is weighing the deployment of ground troops to Iran, though this remains unconfirmed.
The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 8 am ET.

Jordan Conradson, formerly TGP’s Arizona correspondent, is currently on assignment in Washington DC. Jordan has played a critical role in exposing fraud and corruption in Arizona’s elections and elected officials. His reporting on election crimes in Maricopa County led to the resignation of one election official, and he was later banned from the Maricopa County press room for his courage in pursuit of the truth. TGP and Jordan finally gained access after suing Maricopa County, America’s fourth largest county, and winning at the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Conradson looks forward to bringing his aggressive style of journalism to the Swamp.
