Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or –the Israeli couple torn apart on Oct. 7 but reunited two years later — have broken up: report

The Israeli couple who were horrifically separated and kidnapped by Hamas during the Oct. 7 massacre have broken up, according to a local report.

Noa Argamani, 28, and Avinatan Or, 32, were apart for over two years after being abducted by terrorists at the Nova Festival and held separately in Gaza.

Argamani became the face of the atrocity as video and images of the terrified young woman being whisked away on the back of a terrorist’s motorcycle circulated the globe.

“Don’t kill me!” she screamed as she was hauled away.

Now the couple is coping with the unimaginable trauma stemming from the harrowing day, and has decided to focus on their “individual healing,” according to Israeli outlet JFeed

Those close to the survivors reportedly told the outlet that the break-up was respectful and amicable.

Argamani was kidnapped for 245 days. Or was among the last victims to be released after more than two years of imprisonment spent starving and alone.

During their tear-jerking reunion in October 2025, Argamani flashed a wide smile while Or planted a kiss on her cheek.

“Not every story that begins in trauma is meant to end the same way,” Jewish Life Now, a modern-Jewish culture magazine, shared on Facebook in reaction to the news. “Sometimes survival is just the beginning . . . and healing takes its own direction.”

Those invested in the miraculous love story commended the couple for being strong enough to call it quits after everything they endured together.

“Very brave of them both. And it is correct for now. This sort of trauma cannot be healed together, not initially. They both need their own healing,” wrote one commenter.

“Perhaps in time. They’d not be the first couple to have separation after profound trauma. I hope they both find some peace, and pray for them both.”

Or and Argamani did not immediately respond for comment.
