Dexter Lawrence requests trade from Giants in pre-draft bombshell

Dexter Lawrence delivered the first blow to the John Harbaugh Era.

Lawrence requested a trade from the Giants and will be skipping the voluntary portion of the offseason program that begins Tuesday, according to an ESPN report.

It’s a major reversal of stance by the three-time Pro Bowler, who told The Post that he wanted to be a lifetime Giant and join the Ring of Honor when asked before last season about dealing with years of losing.

Lawrence signed a four-year, $90 million contract extension during 2023 but has not been happy to see so many big pieces of the Giants’ core have been cast away since then, including his close friends Saquon Barkley, Julian Love and Leonard Williams.

An explosion in defensive tackle contracts has pushed Lawrence’s average annual value to No. 11 at his position.

Thank you

It’s a hard time for him to push for a restructure though because he is coming off a disappointing season with only a half-sack.

Harbaugh raved about Lawrence and now has to deal with his first major crisis two weeks before the draft after a sunny first few months on the job.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
