The Jets’ dream had come to a crashing halt in Denver against John Elway and the Broncos, a crushing loss that left them painfully short of the Super Bowl.
There was the belief, at least among the fan base, that it was the start of something even greater. Bill Parcells didn’t share that sentiment.
“There’s no guarantee you get back here next year,” the Hall of Fame coach said then.
