A Haitian illegal immigrant released into the US by the Biden administration’s lax immigration policies allegedly bludgeoned a Florida mother at a gas station in a brazen daylight attack.
Rolbert Jaochin, 40, is accused of striking the 51-year-old woman multiple times, leaving her to die in the parking lot outside a Chevron gas station in Fort Myers around 7:20 a.m. on Friday, according to court records viewed by The Post.
The woman was found by first responders outside the convenience store, not breathing, lying in a pool of blood around her head, according to the documents.
She was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:27 a.m.
Joachin had been seen outside the convenience store holding a “mallet” in one hand and a knife in the other before the alleged attack, when he began striking the windshield of a black SUV.
Joachin then allegedly whacked the woman — who had stepped out of a nearby store — in the head, causing her to fall to the ground, a witness told police.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, was reportedly a store clerk inside the gas station.
She was also the mother of two teenage daughters, according to a report from local outlet Gulf Coast News.
He then allegedly took advantage of the defenseless woman and struck her several more times with the hammer.
Witnesses described the weapon as a metal mallet with a blue rubber handle.
The woman, whose name has not been publicly released, was not armed and did not pose a threat to Joachin as she had her arms to her side, police found.
Officials released surveillance footage of Joachin walking around wearing a yellow graphic t-shirt and shorts.
The Haitian-native arrived in the US back in August 2022 and was released into the country by the Biden Administration, which had granted him Temporary Protected Status, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Joachin had been issued a “final order of removal” by a judge but he was safe because of the TPS that ran out in 2024.
“This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer. This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him Temporary Protected Status. Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life,” DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said. “The arrest of this criminal is an example of how ICE and local authorities can work together to swiftly bring criminals to justice and make our communities safer.”
Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Joachin and will “be deported regardless of the outcome of this case,” according to the DHS.
Several officers recognized the man from prior encounters, identifying the suspect as Joachin.
He was spotted walking in the area of Mango Street and was detained and brought to the police station.
Through an interpreter speaking Creole, Joachin was read his rights before confessing to the brutal murder, according to court records.
No motive was revealed for the brutal murder, and Joachin is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
He was charged with homicide (murder dangerous depraved without premeditation) and criminal mischief, damage of property over $1,000.
