This is the insane moment cops deployed a Batman-like gadget to stop a suspect in a high-speed car chase — before the man shot himself dead.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officers were seen speeding after the white Cadillac on Antigua Drive in Jurupa Valley on Wednesday after it fled a high school standoff.

Incredible video showed police deploying a new grappling device that hooked to the vehicle and spun it out of control and into the guardrails.

The authorities appeared to be closing in as a deputy lowered the nylon netting, attempting to snag the rear driver-side tire to lock the axle; however, the device failed to catch properly.

The contact at high speed caused the car to fishtail violently, swerving across all lanes of Bellegrave Avenue before jumping the curb.

The car then slammed head-on into a thick concrete retaining wall with such force that the front end crumpled, sending a cloud of dust and debris into a residential backyard.

“All of a sudden, I see a white car start coming down the street really fast. And then they did their maneuver, and I see it coming at the wall, and I ran away from the wall as fast as I could,” a man, who barely missed being a bystander casualty in the terrible crash, told ABC 7.

“As I was going, I just heard like a ‘boom,’ and out of the corners of my eyes, I could see things flying away from me.

“This is insane. Like, you would never think this would happen to you, pretty much,” he added.

After the high-speed crash, a three-hour standoff ensued as the suspect refused to exit the shattered Cadillac, leading deputies to utilize drones, armored vehicles, and eventually tear gas to force a surrender.

When the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department finally breached the vehicle and pulled the man out at approximately 5:45 p.m., they found him motionless.

He was pronounced dead at the scene from what authorities determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound sustained during the standoff.

The high-speed pursuit was initiated after Riverside County deputies spotted the suspect, who was wanted for grand theft.

The man also appeared to have been armed, according to authorities, which led to SWAT teams and other capture operations.
