Eight children ranging in age from 18 months to 14 years old were killed early Sunday morning after what is being called “a domestic dispute” escalated into a mass shooting in Louisiana.
The shootings occurred around 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.
A total of 10 people were shot during the incident.

In addition to the eight children who died, two adult women were also shot and survived their injuries.
Police believe some of the child victims were related to the suspect.
KSLA reports, “a total of 10 people were shot, the only survivors being two adult women, with one suffering from life-threatening injuries. One of the women is believed to be in some kind of relationship with the suspect. Police also say the woman who has life-threatening injuries is believed to have been shot in the head.”
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith described the crime scene as extensive and involving multiple locations.
The suspect fled the initial scene by carjacking a vehicle at gunpoint. Officers pursued the suspect into neighboring Bossier City, where he was fatally shot by law enforcement.
No officers were injured during the pursuit or the shooting.
The overall investigation remains active as authorities work to process multiple crime scenes and determine the full sequence of events.
This is one of the deadliest domestic-related shootings involving children in recent Louisiana history.
No motive beyond the initial domestic dispute has been released, and the suspect’s identity has not yet been made public.
