This morning, French police shot and killed a man armed with two knives in Dugny, on the outskirts of Paris, following a violent confrontation that once again highlights the country’s security crisis.
The incident, which took place around 7:00 a.m., erupted when the suspect, seated at a bus stop, lunged at officers attempting to detain him.
Police tried to subdue him with a stun gun, which failed to work on the subject, prompting an officer to shoot the assailant in the chest, resulting in his death at the scene.
Authorities have, for now, ruled out a terrorist motive, though no details about the individual’s identity or motivations have been disclosed.
