The Lake Show hosts a 2024 Western Conference finalist for the second straight game.
After defeating the Dallas Mavericks in a highly emotional, heavily competitive game Tuesday, Los Angeles welcome Minnesota with just a single day’s rest for the Western Conference affair.
The Lakers opened as 4.5-point favorites at Caesars coming into Thursday’s game and it has since ballooned to six, but I have some reservations about backing them in this matchup.
Injuries are a major question in this game, specifically for the Timberwolves, as Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo all did not play Sunday.
That the line has moved 1.5 points in the Lakers’ favor indicates oddsmakers expect Minnesota will not be at full strength Thursday night.

Timberwolves vs. Lakers prediction
Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves completed an insane comeback over the Thunder to pull off a 131-128 victory in overtime Monday.
It was also an emotional win for Minnesota, who was shorthanded and relied heavily on Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to rally from a 25-point deficit in the second half.
Of perhaps some concern for the Timberwolves is that Anthony Edwards has not played well in recent games, shooting an abysmal 34.4 percent from the field in his last five games.
Edwards has been a beast getting to the line, though, getting at least 10 free throws attempts in all but two games this month.
Considering the Lakers don’t have a big man that they can rely on in the paint, it’s hard to imagine Edwards won’t eat in Thursday’s matchup.
Given Edwards’ recent free-throw statistics, he has a solid floor for him to build on in the points department.

Edwards loves getting to the rim, will likely target and blow by Luka Doncic at will and has a strong chance at continuing that trend Thursday.
