The collision was enough to make the Prius collide with the center median along with two other vehicles and erupt in a massive fireball.

The LAFD responded at 7:16 p.m. and ruled the Prius driver, who had been in the car as it went up in flames, deceased upon arrival.

Witnesses described the fire to KTLA as “giant” and “very, very hot.” A second driver was ruled to be in critical condition and needed to be hospitalized.

But the aggressive third driver allegedly took off as witnesses desperately tried to save the Prius driver by smashing out her window with a golf club.

Other witnesses of the crash helped Deegan keep the man in their custody until CHP officers arrived to arrest him. It’s unclear what crime they charged the alleged aggressive driver with.

Witness Eve Porinchak pointed out at least one positive from the frightening crash, which claimed the life of an unidentified woman.

“Regardless of what the rest of the world says about us, we’re good people,” she said. “L.A. has so many good people who will help strangers. Thank goodness for good people.”
