NYC woman, 59, violently raped by neighbor who smashed down her door in vicious attack: sources

A 59-year-old Brooklyn woman was allegedly raped by a neighbor who smashed down her apartment door and viciously pummeled and choked her in a violent attack Friday night, police and sources said.

The brute busted into the Bensonhurst home on 15th Avenue and 71st Street around 8:30 p.m., entered the woman’s bedroom and demanded sex before unleashing multiple blows and throttling her as he carried out the ruthless sexual assault, law enforcement sources said.

The horrified victim reported the terror at 11:15 p.m., telling responding officers she had been sexually assaulted by someone she knew, cops said.

She was rushed to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition, police and sources said.

Police said a person of interest has been taken into custody — but no arrests have been made.

Sources said a 38-year-old neighbor who lives in the building is being questioned by police.

Police swarmed the scene on Saturday, with photos showing NYPD crime scene investigators, detectives, and the Special Victims Squad leaving the home carrying multiple evidence bags.
