WWE used Backlash to continue investing in its future with excellent professional wrestling and some solid sports entertainment.
Trick Williams and Bron Breakker both left with victories, and Jacob Fatu leveled up in defeat. Thankfully, the John Cena announcement was not Club WWE-related but a new John Cena Classic that has a chance to be a fun and fruitful addition to the events calendar.
Backlash certainly made up for the quality wrestling WrestleMania lacked at times, was a good rebound following mixed reviews from Las Vegas and effectively advanced stories.
